Smash-and-grab car prowler steals purse at 74th and Greenwood

by | Nov 15, 2010

The folks at Rising Stars children’s store tellĀ us that a woman’s black purse was stolen from the passenger seat of a minivan parked on Greenwood Avenue and North 74th Street about 1:10 p.m. Monday.

This would have been in full view of anyone sitting by the windows at the 74th Street Alehouse, Herkimer, or near the south windows of Rising Stars. Very bold! The thief used a piece of lumber with nails sticking out of it to smash the window, and rather quietly.
The driver will call the police but had to leave to pick up her daughters. She loved the purse and would like to have it back in case it is found discarded in the neighborhood.

If you find a discarded black purse, please email us and we’ll get in touch with the owner.
