Scott Nolte is Taproot’s producing artistic director, and Pam Nolte is the theater’s community liaison. They founded Taproot Theatre Company with four other people, including three other SPU alumni, in 1976, the same year they graduated with theater degrees.

The Noltes will formally be recognized as Alumni of the Year during the university’s Homecoming festivities in early 2011. As part of their yearlong honor, Scott Nolte will return to SPU’s theatre department, directing its spring production of Our Town.
