Local celebrity chef Tom Douglas will be serving up salmon at Friday night’s grand opening of the Community Resource Center, the new site of the Greenwood Food Bank, Senior Companion Program, and Disability Services.
The Community Resource Center is at 9041 Greenwood Ave. N. Friday’s celebration is from 5-8 p.m., with a program starting at 6:30 p.m., in conjunction with the monthly Phinney-Greenwood Artwalk. The community is invited to stop by anytime to hear live music, view art from local artists, enjoy some yummy refreshments, and take a tour of the facility.
The program is run by Volunteers of America, which says the three programs help more than 4,000 people every month. The three programs were previously in three different rented spaces.
“The Greenwood community has always been so supportive of our north Seattle programs,” Lori Drabant, Vice President of Development & Communications, said in a press release. “We are excited to welcome the community into our new facility to celebrate its grand opening.”
