Envision more art on Aurora

by | Jan 9, 2010

A group of concerned neighbors and artists is gathering at The Greenwood Collective Monday night to talk about how to create more public art on Aurora Avenue.
The three artists behind the new mural on the safety wall on North 85th Street, where the Eleanor Roosevelt Building used to stand before the Oct. 23 arson, have been commissioned to paint a wall at 7615 Aurora Ave. N. John Osgood, Kevin “Sensei23” Sullivan and Zachary Bohnenkamp will be at the meeting to hear the neighborhood’s vision for the artwork. Greenwood Aurora Involved Neighbors (GAIN), Sustainable Green Lake and Seattle Department of Transportation are sponsoring the project.

The basic themes for the artwork will include sustainability, traffic safety and community. Come share your ideas and enthusiasm for a new Aurora!

The meeting is 7:30-8:30 p.m. at The Greenwood Collective, 8537 Greenwood Ave. N., Suite 1. Refreshments will be served. For more information, email GAIN.
