Library patrons sign petition against funding cuts

by | Apr 13, 2009

The city council is discussing possible funding cuts to the Seattle Public Library system, even as usage grows because of the tough economy.
Sarel Rowe from Friends of The Seattle Public Library collected petition signatures from Greenwood Library patrons last week, and Jennifer Johnson-Fong, vice president of Friends of The Seattle Public Library, presented the petition to the city council at its special budget meeting this morning.
The Friends group wants library patrons to email council members and ask them not to cut library funding. Here are council members’ email addresses: Jean Godden, Sally Clark, Tom Rasmussen, Jan Drago, Bruce Harrell, Richard Conlin, Richard McIver, Nick Licata, Tim Burgess.
