Part of Aurora Ave closed in both directions Sunday

A lot of downtown streets will be closed this weekend for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, including Fourth Avenue at 7 p.m. as celebrants paint the traditional green stripe down the middle of the street to mark tomorrow’s parade route.
Closer to home, a long stretch of Aurora Avenue will be closed in both directions for Sunday morning’s St. Patrick’s Day Dash.
Aurora Avenue northbound will be closed between the Western Avenue off-ramp from the viaduct to N. 39th Street at Fremont. All northbound traffic will be detoured off at Western Avenue. Southbound Aurora will be closed from N. 39th Street to the Broad Street off-ramp. All southbound traffic will be detoured off of Aurora at N. 39th Street.
Also, the Fremont Bridge will be closed from 2:30-6 a.m. Sunday so Seattle Department of Transportation crews can repair a damaged center lock.
