Sherman Alexie to read at Top Ten Toys Saturday

by | Nov 14, 2008

Famous Seattle author Sherman Alexie will read from his award-winning book “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian” at 3 p.m. Saturday at Top Ten Toys at 104 N. 85th St. A clerk at the store told us this afternoon that their “fabulous book buyer” enticed Alexie to visit the store to give a reading and sign books.
Alexie won a National Book Award for this young adult novel – a coming-of-age tale about a Spokane boy who leaves the reservation to attend a white high school.
And coming up on Nov. 22, local authors Carmela and Steve D’amico, who write the enchanting Ella the Elephant series, will read and sign books at Top Ten Toys at 3 p.m.
