Twelve Step Shop building for rent

by | Nov 7, 2008

The Twelve Step Shop, a fixture in a craftsman style home at 6300 Phinney Ave. N. for 20 years, has closed. The building is for rent.

The building is commercial zoned and can be turned into a live/work space. The owners are asking $1,150 per month, plus utilities. Please call Julie Campbell or K.T. at (206) 542-4268 if you’re interested.

In the meantime, Mary Jacobsen, former owner of the Twelve Step Shop, says customers can still get “recovery items” at her other store, Flat Majic Books & Gifts, 822 SW 152nd St., Burien, (206) 244-4537.

“Business fell off and I wasn’t able to make my commitments,” Jacobsen said of Twelve Step’s closure. “It was sad. I didn’t want to do that, but sometimes you have to, especially with today’s economy.”

Let’s hope this isn’t harbinger of more neighborhood business closings.
