Gardeners around these parts are gearing up for Woodland Park Zoo’s twice-annual “Fecal Fest” – when the animals’ waste provides a lot of nutrients for local yards and gardens.
Starting Friday, the zoo’s Dr. Doo will accept postcard requests for Zoo Doo compost through Sept. 20. Then he’ll draw winning entries at random (he always gets more requests than he can fill). Pickup dates are Oct. 4-19. You can ask for a pickup load, a garbage can or a small bag.
