Firefighters pass the boot to fight MD

by | Jul 18, 2008

Seattle firefighters are asking for donations at the corner of Greenwood Avenue and 85th Street today (Friday) to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This annual “Fill the Boot” fundraiser runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to toss cash, checks and change into the boots. Since 1954, “Fill the Boot” campaigns have raised more than $300 million for MDA. Today, firefighters hope to raise $100,000. The Seattle campaign helps support UW Medical Center and Children’s Hospital in addition to a summer camp for kids.
