4th Annual Greenwoodstock Concert at ‘Our Park’

by | Jul 15, 2008

The musical event of Lower Phinney/Southwest Greenwood is back for its fourth year – Greenwoodstock at “Our Park” at 6th Avenue NW and NW 76th St. In years past, Greenwoodstock was held all day on a weekend, but this year organizers decided to incorporate it into the annual Night Out Against Crime block party celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 5.

All neighboring blocks having their own parties are invited to drop by the park anytime after 6 p.m. that evening to listen to husband-wife acoustic group Moongirl from 6-6:45; Tacoma rock band The Lazy Kings from 7-7:45; and rock, surf, blues and country band BottleRockit from 8-9:30 p.m.
Since the park is a “no amplification” space, the “stage” will be across the street in local artist Stephen McClelland’s back yard, enabling the performers to use a PA system. The street will be blocked off for dancing, grilling and chatting. And, of course, the park’s sandbox is always a big draw for all ages.
