Community meeting & potluck Sunday to start designing renovation of Evanston P-Patch

Friends of the Evanston P-Patch recently received a $25,000 Seattle Department of Neighborhoods grant to renovate the community garden at 604 N. 101st St. (between Evanston and Fremont avenues).
Established in 1974, it is the second oldest community garden in Seattle, with about 75 P-Patch plots in 11,600-square-feet of space. Several of the plots benefit local food banks.
Neighbors are invited to a community meeting and potluck at 5:30 p.m. this Sunday, July 26, at the P-Patch, to meet with Barker Landscape Architects as they gather input from the community. Top Pot Doughnuts will provide treats, and Barker will conduct an interactive design game.
A second public meeting will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, to review design concepts. The third meeting will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, to review final designs. All meetings are in the garden.
