PhinneyWood Hubs to conduct emergency preparedness drill on Saturday

by | Jun 3, 2015

Our three neighborhood emergency hubs — the Hub at Epic Life Church, the Hub at Greenwood Senior Center and the Hub at Phinney Neighborhood Center, have combined into one group, now called PhinneyWood Hubs. The three groups are working collaboratively to launch Emergency Communication Hubs in response to a regional event.

To help test out the new system, PhinneyWood Hubs will conduct a drill from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 6, at Greenwood Park, at Fremont Avenue North and North 87th Street. Organizers need community members to help test processes and procedures for natural and man-made emergencies.

Following the drill will be a barbecue and potluck from 12-2 p.m., with a focus on crime prevention.

Organizers plan to provide 100 hot dogs along with buns and condiments. Neighbors can bring a side dish.

The three PhinneyWood Hub Locations are at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.; Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St.; and Epic Life Church, 10510 Stone Ave. N.
