36th District legislators host Action Day in Olympia next Monday

by | Feb 9, 2015

Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles and Reps. Reuven Carlyle and Gael Tarleton are hosting the annual 36th District Legislative Action Day on Monday, Feb. 16.

Weigh in on issues being discussed this session or bring a new issue to the attention of legislators who cover most of Phinney-Greenwood.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with hot drinks and snacks and a preview of the day’s activities in room 211 of the John Cherberg building. Throughout the day, constituents will be able to use the room as a home base and meet for a brown bag lunch to share their priorities with legislators who will be present. Staff will also be available and will help in answering questions and assist in setting up tours of the capitol campus.

As a reminder, Feb. 16 is Presidents’ Day, so this can serve as a wonderful opportunity to bring kids to the Capitol and let them see firsthand what goes on in state government. There will be lots of rallies to attend as well as opportunities to sit in on committee hearings. A full schedule of the day’s activities will be provided by staff.

Though snacks are provided, participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch.
