Seattle magician bringing family-style variety show to Phinney Center

by | Apr 16, 2014

Seattle magician and entertainer Evan Reynolds will host a monthly family-style variety show at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., beginning Sunday, April 27. The show starts at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 for kids, $10 for adults in advance online; an additional $5 at the door.

The opening show features a line-up that sci-fi enthusiasts will relish: an Indiana-Jones-themed musical number by local artist Scandal From Bohemia (winner of the Most Humorous Act in 2010 at the Great Burlesque Expo in Boston!) and accordion player Evan Evanovich, who will be working the crowd. But the star of the show (at least from a kid’s perspective!) is R2-D2, an amazing movie-quality replica built over a five-year period by Evan himself. The R2 unit – which looks, moves, and talks like it just rolled out of the movies – will play a significant role in Evan’s show, alongside several lucky volunteers!
Evan Reynolds was hooked on magic from boyhood, inheriting the craft from his father who was a practicing magician in the 1950’s. His performances range from theater to corporate to kid-style. He has been awarded Magician of the Year for Atlanta, Best Children’s Entertainer by the Pacific Coast Association of Magicians, and has over fifty 5-star reviews on Kudzu. By day, Evan is a software engineer and devoted father of two. He likes to whip out his cards – or his kids – to impress an audience when time allows.

The second show will be June 1, featuring guest start Louie Foxx. After that, shows will be on the fourth Sunday of every month.
