Whitman Middle School students say creepy guy followed them

Two Whitman Middle School students say they had a creepy encounter with a man in a yellow sports car who tried to get them to pet his dog this afternoon.

T told me the man first approached them around NW 83rd Street and 13th Avenue NW as they were walking home to Phinney Ridge. He was parked in the middle of the street and his dog was sitting on the sidewalk. The man told them they could pet his dog, and then asked them to bring his dog to the car. The boys didn’t respond and walked away.

They later saw the same man driving slowly near them at NW 75th Street and 11th Avenue NW. The boys had just met up with a friend who told them the same car had followed him as he walked home from St. John’s Catholic School in Greenwood on Thursday. The boys ran to a nearby home and the car sped away.

The man is described as white, in his 20’s or 30’s, short hair, and wearing an orange and silver shirt and orange and silver hat.

Did anyone else encounter this man?
