Author Michael Koep will read from and sign his new book, “The Invasion of Heaven,” from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at Couth Buzzard Bookstore, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. Free.

Couth Buzzard Books also presents Professor Fred Hopkins Music and Movie Marvels — Schlock Cinema Showing: I Eat Your Skin from 7:30-10 p.m. Friday; “The Mover and the Shaker” — another Mike Pryor farewell concert with special guest Gary Kanter from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday; and Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4 p.m. Sunday.

Sunday Brunch Buffet from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Norse Home, 5311 Phinney Ave. N.

College Entrance Essay Marathon from 12-3 p.m. Sunday at 826 Seattle, 8414 Greenwood Ave. N.

Day of the Cat at All The Best Pet Care from 12-5:30 p.m. Sunday, 10005 Holman Rd. NW.

Holiday Book Signing by local authors from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.

Light Up Seattle from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Rock of Ages Church, 316 N. 70th St.

Cahalen Morrison & Greg Spatz perform in concert from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Empty Sea Studios, 6300 Phinney Ave. N. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.
