Greenwood Hardware/True Value at 72nd and Greenwood is celebrating the grand reopening of its remodeled store this weekend with sales and giveaways.

The store removed the old blue vinyl siding and refaced the underlying brick, to restore the building to its 1950’s look. They also uncovered and replaced dormer windows, allowing in more natural light, and made a reproduction of the original glass sales sign in the southwestern window.

The shed addition on the north side was demolished and rebuilt with a matching brick façade, awning and higher ceilings. Part of the back storage area was changed into retail space. The store now has an additional 1,000 square feet of retail space.

The store has expanded its housewares and paint sections, and added sections for home maintenance, camping, pet, and solar lighting.

This weekend’s celebrating includes 20 percent off store-wide from Friday through Sunday, and 25 percent on lawn and garden items. Saturday is the big party day, with balloons for the kids, and free pizza and soda. Earn one ticket for every $10 spent, and enter to win the grand prize of a wheelbarrow full of products. Prizes will be given away every hour on the hour but you must be present to win.
