Neighborhood paving work this week and next week

by | Jul 10, 2013

Seattle Department of Transportation paving crews will be out in two spots in the neighborhood this week and next.
Crews will pave 3rd Avenue NW between NW 137th and NW 140th streets from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Traffic will share a single lane, alternating northbound and southbound, with the assistance of traffic flaggers.
And starting next week, crews will be filling cracks on Phinney Avenue North, between North 50th and North 60th streets.

This process will reduce the amount of water that seeps under the pavement causing potholes and other roadway damage. This preventative maintenance work will help to prolong the life of the pavement.
No street closures will be required, but there will be lane closures of up to four hours and on-street parking will be restricted. Typical work hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. “No-parking” signs will be posted 72 hours in advance. SDOT crews will work to minimize any delays and will provide assistance as needed. Traffic flaggers will be present during maintenance work. Sidewalks will remain open at all times.
