Holiday cheer, live music and shopping for a good cause in Greenwood-Phinney this weekend

There’s plenty of live music and holiday events happening in Greenwood and Phinney Ridge this weekend. Here are a few highlights; check our Events calendar any time for more.
WildLights continues at Woodland Park Zoo with a special illuminated Stroller Parade starting at 6:45 p.m. Friday. It’s free to participate, and children ages 2 and under are admitted free. (You can also use a wagon or other kid-friendly conveyance.) Assemble at the tables and tents near the carousel any time after 5:30 p.m. The parade will head to Zoomazium. Admission to WildLights is $9.50 for adults, $6.50 for children ages 3 to 12, and free for toddlers ages 0-2. (This after-hours event is not included with membership).

Art Up Phinneywood Art Walk is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at nearly four-dozen art galleries and businesses all along Phinney/Greenwood avenues from North 62nd to North 87th streets. Check out the Art Up website for a full list and map of participating businesses.
Friday from 6-9 p.m. is 826 Seattle and Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co.’s “Shop for a Good Cause” holiday event. They’ll have free gift wrapping, astronaut food samples and original, non-denominational carols.
Open mic at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Woodland Park Presbyterian Church, 225 N. 70th St.
Aaron Keim performs a Pacific NW Folklore Society concert at Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, Couth Buzzard hosts Occupy Seattle Music CD Celebration at 7:30 p.m.
“Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol” continues at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St.
Sweet William’s Ghost with Kirk Reese performs at 8 p.m. Friday at Empty Sea Studios, 6300 Phinney Ave. N.
Broadview-Thomson K-8 is selling Christmas trees Saturday and Sunday at the school at 13052 Greenwood Ave. N.
Holiday Bazaar benefiting Whittier Elementary School PTA at the home of a Whittier parent, 313 NW 81st  St. from 12-3 Saturday. Local businesses offering hand-made items such as textiles, purses and totes, jewelry, stationery, ceramics and baked goods. $2 cash entry fee. Most, but not all, vendors accept credit cards. Cash only for bake sale.
Family Christmas Sing-Along at 4 p.m. Sunday at Woodland Park Presbyterian Church, 225 N. 70th St.
The Family Crest performs a family-friendly benefit concert for KapKa Cooperative School at 4 p.m. Sunday at 510 N. 49th St.
Caroling in Sandel Park starts at 6 p.m. Sunday, at 9053 1st Ave. NW.
