Turn the Light On against child sexual abuse

by | Sep 13, 2012

Shepherd’s Counseling Services is hosting a community event to shine a light on the tragedy of child sexual abuse. The second annual Turn the Light On is from 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Woodland Park Zoo. (Enter through the West gate, beginning at 6:30 p.m.) Admission is free.

KING 5 reporter Natasha Ryan will emcee. Speakers include King County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Satterberg, and Broadway performer and author of “The Tricky Part” Martin Moran. Michael Tomlinson will perform in concert.

Join us for the second year, to speak out to end child sexual abuse as we stand together, and learn some simple but powerful tools every adult can use to keep our children safe.

The topic of childhood sexual abuse, its social impact, and what adults can do to keep kids safe will be addressed directly. Graphic details of abuse will not be discussed. Parent discretion recommended regarding age-appropriateness of this topic for children.
