Phinney Farmers Market opens June 1

by | May 24, 2012

The Phinney Farmers Market reopens for the 2012 season on Friday, June 1. The market will be open from 3-7 p.m. every Friday, in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave, through Oct. 5. (In mid-season, the market will move back to its original spot in the PNA’s lower parking lot when remodeling begins on the PNA blue building.)
Vendors will sell fruit, veggies, meat, eggs, cheese, bread, chocolates, soup, flowers and more.
New vendors include: the Mushroom Farm (foraged and cultivated mushrooms); Jacob’s Creamery (fresh butter, yogurt and pudding); and Van Vuren Farm (eggs, herbs and heirloom produce).
Ready-to-eat dining options include El Rodeo (by Lily’s Salvadorean Catering), quesadillas and tamales from Patty Pan Grill, Veraci Pizza, and fresh smoothies made in bicycle-powered blenders.
Special events already scheduled include: Glorious Greens Celebration on July 6; Phinney Phruit Phestival, which will coincide with this year’s Summer Streets event on August 10; and Market Sale Day on Sept. 21, where you can stock up for the winter and learn how to preserve summer produce.
Check out the new Phinney Farmers Market page on Facebook for vendor profiles and what’s fresh each week.
