Students, friends and family gather to remember Prudence Hockley

by | Jan 13, 2012

Woodinville High School’s gym was packed last night for a memorial to English teacher Prudence Hockley, who died Christmas Day after being assaulted at her Phinney Ridge home late on Christmas Eve.
Most of the major media outlets were there last night. You can see video of the memorial from KING 5, KOMO 4 and KIRO 7.
Johnnie Lee Wiggins, Hockley’s boyfriend, pleaded not guilty yesterday to second degree murder charges.
Another memorial service is set for 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the Center For Urban Horticulture at the University of Washington, 3501 NE 41st St.
A memorial Facebook page is here. A fund for Hockley’s family has been set up at BECU. Checks can be made out to the Prudence Hockley Benevolent Account, and mailed to BECU, PO Box 34044, Seattle, WA 98124-1044.
Hockley is survived by two adult children, and a 13-year-old daughter.
