Non-profit Bike Shack looking for space in the neighborhood

by | Dec 30, 2011

The Bike Shack is looking for a building, or even just a piece of land, where it can set up shop in the Phinney-Greenwood or Green Lake neighborhoods.
Bike Shack is an all-volunteer, non-profit bike shop currently in the U-District.

We run entirely off donations and have been teaching people how to fix up their bicycles and providing parts and tools for over 8 years.
We currently spend over 90% of all donations on rent and our space has been halved from its previous amount of space. This has meant we have had to eliminate over half of all our parts as well as most of our work-space.
Currently we live in a very rickety, leaky shack with no running water, bathroom access, and power provided only by a small solar array and/or an extension cord. So anything that gives us a secure, accessible space is completely acceptable.
If anyone even has any land available we’d like to know so that we could see about securing portable or temporary structures to use as our shop.

If you have or know of a spot that might be available, please email [email protected].
