Monthly artwalk at 2 dozen venues Friday night

The monthly Greenwood-Phinney Art Up Art Walk, sponsored by the Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce, is Friday night and 22 businesses, pubs and restaurants are offering art installations or special deals from 6-9 p.m.
Art on the Ridge at SPACE: A Design Collective, 7601 Greenwood Ave. N. has live music and artists at work while you watch. Bring a poem to read during open mic at 7:30 p.m.
Assemble Gallery & Studio, 7406 Greenwood Ave. N., features “ZOO¡ Creatures of Curiosity” an art installation by Karl Addison. “Over the years, Karl Addison’s work has taken on an imaginative side of the animal kingdom: creating creatures of strange breeds, oddities, and miss matching. It will be an exhibit of strange, life-sized animals in all of their natural detail and splendor. This collection of creatures has been researched and illustrated over the past three years. It is a peek into life’s ‘what if.’ Artist present.”

Avanti Art & Design, 7317 Greenwood Ave. N., showcases photographs/fibers from Leela Pastala; functional art and recycled materials by Leo Schmidt; sculpture/lighting by Pat Gallagher; multimedia paintings/drawings/lighting by Emmalee Bozek; glass/works on paper/paintings by Nancy Fiala. Artists present.
Balderdash Books & Art, 8536 Greenwood Ave. N., has artwork by Jethaniel Peterka. Artist present.
Bleacher’s Pub, 8118 Greenwood Ave. N., is offering a discounted appetizer or entrée during the art walk.
Bherd Studios Gallery in The Greenwood Collective, 8537 Greenwood Ave. N., Suite 1, is showcasing “Screen-Play,” featuring artwork from screen-printing artists Douglas Bick, Mindi Davis, Lance Lobuzzetta, Michael McGovern and Riley Raker. Carmelita, 7314 Greenwood Ave. N. is offering $5 artisinal cocktails at its new bar. (And it has a happy hour menu from 5-7 p.m. daily)
