Greenwood group to be honored by mayor

Mayor Greg Nickels will proclaim Saturday, May 2, as GAIN Appreciation Day. GAIN (Greenwood Aurora Involved Neighbors) brings neighbors together to promote community and decrease crime. Nickels will attend GAIN’s 30th neighborhood cleanup on Saturday.
Everyone is invited to help GAIN celebrate spring by joining them for the cleanup at 10 a.m., followed by a barbecue lunch at from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Meet at Greenwood Christian Church, 8018 Fremont Ave N. for both events. 
Gain has collected 655 bags of garbage in the Greenwood/Aurora corridor since its first cleanup in December 2005.
