Mountaineers to ‘hike’ to Greenwood Library

The Seattle Times reports that a group of Seattle Mountaineers decided to celebrate the completion of the city’s Libraries for All campaign by walking to each of the city’s 27 libraries to get their new library passports stamped.
The group began their hikes in early October by hiking to all five West Seattle libraries in one day. Their longest hike is planned for Nov. 20, when they’ll walk about 11.8-miles between the Magnolia, Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, Green Lake, Greenwood and Ballard branches.
Anyone who gets their library passport stamped at all 27 libraries by Jan. 2 can enter to win a book lover’s basket. The library system has already received about 50 completed passport books.
